Diane Allen actively homeschooled for 23 years and graduated three students into college. Imagine her surprise when she learned she had made several common mistakes in maintaining her student’s valuable homeschool records. After talking with many college admission offices, military recruiters, FBI agents and verification services she revised her graduate transcripts and prepared a proper permanent academic record. In this workshop, she shares her mistakes and how to prevent future complications as she outlines the Basic Rules of a Record Retention for homeschool students.

Diane Allen began her educator journey as a classroom science teacher. After transitioning to a stay-at-home mom, she homeschooled her 3 children to graduation over a span of 21 years while also serving the homeschool community through co-ops, being a testing provider and an online teacher. She was blessed with the opportunity to serve as the NC DNPE director from 2016-2018 and currently works with a University Model School as director of program support.
