FIELD TRIP CANCELLED

Children love to learn through play and hands-on activity!  At the Wednesday, March 16 NCHE field trip to the Marbles Museum in Raleigh, children can learn about
*   solar, wind, coal, nuclear and water power at The Kid Grid,
*   the world of money by becoming a shopkeeper, banker, or customer in Moneypalooza,
*   plants and animals of the Neuse River region by building a “beaver dam” or peeking in a duck box at River Playway

They can
*   make music on the Step Notes stairs
*   construct, invent, animate and craft in Imagifab
*   explore how people live, work and play together in the kid-sized Around Town!

And these are only half of the totally interactive learning areas in Marbles!

NCHE has arranged a discounted admission field trip for our families that INCLUDES the IMAX theater showing of “Backyard Wilderness.”  In this 45-minute 3D program (glasses included in admission and yours to keep), we will learn how the environment is influenced by human activities, how species depend on one another for survival and how ecosystems change through the seasons. This stunning array of wildlife images and behaviors will surprise and entertain students and parents alike.  Check-in to the museum starts at 11:00 a.m.; IMAX show is at noon.  Tickets ordered by 11:59 pm on Saturday, March 12 are:  $13.25 (kids ages 1-11); $15.25 (ages 12 and older).  Children under 1 are free.  Tickets are transferable to others for the same day but are non-refundable.

The CDC advises that senior citizens and those with underlying health conditions are especially vulnerable.
