My name is Te’Essence Mack and I am a child of God and lover of Christ. I believe the most potent ministry is that of motherhood, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to do so full time to three beautiful children in various stages of life – a tween, a preschooler, and a budding toddler. Therefore, I gladly accept all prayers offered up for me! I also have the privilege and honor of serving as a wife for almost 5 years and counting. This life that I am living is one I never imagined for myself, yet better than anything I could have dreamt. I look forward daily to embracing the beauty of this simple, natural, and abundant life in Christ!

Mi nombre es Luz Velázquez. I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Puerto Rico. I have been living in the United States for 28 years now. I am an Army veteran’s spouse and the mother of a seven-year-old boy named Carloscésar. I am a homeschool mom. We love God, nature, music, gardening, cooking, and baking. I have a passion for learning and teaching foreign languages. I love traveling, dancing, and trying different foods from all over the world.

Multicultural Resources
More families are homeschooling than ever before. As the homeschooling community grows, it is also becoming more diverse. Families are coming from different ethnic, racial, and linguistic backgrounds. They have unique experiences and goals for home education. In order for NCHE to help all families homeschool with confidence and joy, we want to welcome all kinds of families into our community and work to understand and address the unique needs they may be facing.
The purpose of this webinar is to put out the welcome mat and understand these unique needs. Matthew McDill, NCHE’s executive director, talks with Te’Essence Mack and Luz Velázquez, two homeschool moms from different ethnic backgrounds.

NCHE is making an intentional effort to reach and serve multicultural homeschool families. We want to equip you with the information and tools you need to successfully navigate the homeschool world, while providing a unique opportunity to connect with other multicultural families. We believe that we can all benefit from an inclusive and diverse homeschool experience.
