Winston-Salem
Join NCHE and homeschool families from across the region for a day of science learning and fun! Kaleideum North (formerly known as SciWorks), Winston-Salem, will be the location of our Tuesday, February 26, 2019, field trip. Kaleideum features hands-on science learning in many fields: physics, biology, health and human anatomy, plants and animals, architecture/building, and more! With more than 25,000 square feet inside and a 17 acre Science and Environmental Park outside, there’s surely something to enrich your family’s science education. And as an option, NCHE has arranged for two planetarium shows: “Astro-Moose goes to Space: An introduction to the Solar System for the Young Astonomer” (11 a.m.) and “Live Sky Tour: What You Can See in the Sky Tonight” (1 p.m.). Planetarium seating is limited. Each planetarium show is approximately 20-30 minutes.
Check-in will be anytime between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Depending on the ages and interests of your family, you’ll want to plan to spend 3-4 hours on site. You are welcome and encouraged to bring lunch coolers for your personal use.
General admission to the field trip is $7 per person (children under 1 are admitted free). If you want to attend the planetarium show(s), add $1 per show to your general admission ticket. Pre-registration and payment is required. Registrations are transferable to someone else for the same date but are non-refundable. Registration deadline is Sunday, February 24, 11:59 p.m..
Please note this is the SCIENCE Kaleideum located at 400 West Hanes Mill Road, Winston-Salem (not the Children’s Kaleideum located downtown Winston-Salem.)
