Graduate Central: What NCHE Offers

The graduation of your homeschooled son or daughter is a momentous occasion and worthy of celebration. NCHE offers several ways to help you celebrate this milestone in your child’s life: NCHE Graduation Ceremony, distinctive diploma, graduate GREENHOUSE and college scholarships.

Graduation Ceremony & Diploma

NCHE invites you to commemorate this occasion with your family and community. The annual NCHE Graduation Ceremony coincides with the NCHE Thrive! Conference. The 2024 ceremony will be held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 25, at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, NC. The ceremony lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. Homeschools wishing to participate in the ceremony will need to purchase a Graduation Ceremony Package. This package includes a diploma (described below), cap and gown, a rose for the teacher and the option of a honor cord. Current membership is required to participate in the graduation ceremony. Regular price deadline is March 7, 2024.
Late price deadline is as space allows or April 6, 2024, which ever comes first.

Create personalized announcements for your homeschool graduate. There are many print shops and online services where you can order announcements, but you can do it with a reasonable cost using any quality copy service near your home.

NCHE Graduation Junior Marshal Application

Calling All Homeschooled High School Sophomores and Juniors!
As we are making plans for our graduation ceremonies, we would love for you to consider applying to be a junior marshal for the NCHE graduation. We will be choosing up to eight per ceremony. The deadline to apply to be a junior marshal is April 15.

Diploma Only

If you are not participating in the NCHE Graduation Ceremony, you can still order a diploma. NCHE prints a distinctive homeschool diploma enclosed in a hunter green cover. This diploma includes the student’s name, school name and graduation date. The homeschool chief administrator will be responsible for signing the diploma to certify that the student has completed the homeschool’s high school graduation requirements. You will need to know your graduate’s graduation date when ordering a diploma. Diplomas will be shipped within four weeks of receipt of payment and approval of the proof. A proof via email is sent within three weeks.
A diploma may be ordered at any time of the year.

GREENHOUSE Special Graduate Issue

The GREENHOUSE publishes a special issue in May that celebrates our high school graduates. The issue contains graduate recognitions and graduate ads contributed by families in celebration of their graduate. This issue is a great memento of this celebration. We make this issue available for you to purchase extra copies for those important people in the graduate’s life. To be included, you will need to submit your graduate’s recognition paragraph/bio and a head shot photo. You also have the opportunity to purchase a ½ page ad. Graduate Recognition in GREENHOUSE
Deadline March 10, 2024

We provide four options for your recognition paragraph. Up to 450 characters and a head shot is $20, between 451 and 600 characters and a head shot is $55 and between 601 and 750 characters and a head shot is $90 and 751-900 characters and a head shot for $125.

NCHE members on April 15, 2024, will receive a copy of this special graduate issue with their membership. If you are not a member, you will need to order a copy below, and If you would like extra copies, you can order extra copies below also. These will be mailed to your home in May.

Graduate Ads
Deadline March 10, 2024

In addition to the graduate recognition paragraph and head shot photo, NCHE provides the opportunity to purchase a 1/2 page ad at a greatly reduced price to celebrate your graduate in a special way. You can choose to design your own ad, or we can design it for you. We offer two options, 1) Half Page-Self Designed-$250.00 and 2) Half Page-NCHE Designed-$300.00.

Graduate Issue Copies
Deadline April 10, 2024

The GREENHOUSE Graduate Issue is a great memento of this celebration. NCHE members on April 15, 2024, will receive one copy of this issue; non-members will have to order one. Order extra copies of this issue for those important people in the graduates life. They will be mailed individually to your home. There will be a limited number of copies for purchase at the conference.

2024 Scholarships

Since 1998, NCHE has awarded over $180,100 in college scholarships to over a hundred graduating homeschooled seniors. NCHE Scholars, chosen for outstanding achievement in academics, arts, athletics, and community involvement, have continued their education with institutions as diverse as the U.S. Air Force Academy, Mission Aviation Fellowship, Duke University, Patrick Henry College, Liberty University, Meredith College, and the University of North Carolina. The deadline is March 31, 2024.
