We encourage you to become a member of NCHE and to get involved with a local support group listed below. If you are a support group leader please check the list below and confirm your group’s current contact information. If you are the leader of a group which is not listed, please email that information to us and we will be delighted to add it.
For over 30 years, NCHE has endeavored to serve the homeschoolers in NC. NCHE’s goals are to promote the excellence of home education, provide support for NC homeschoolers, and to protect the right to homeschool. NCHE works to make NC a great place to homeschool. Please join us in this endeavor.

Cape Fear Shiners
We are a homeschool support and social group based in Harnett County, North Carolina. We are inclusive and open to all families, regardless of homeschooling style or religious affiliation. Come to our monthly parents’ meeting, 6 p.m., first Tuesday of each month, at the Harnett Co. Library, Lillington, and learn about Cape Fear Shiners and our upcoming student activities and field trips.

This group is inclusive of all local homeschoolers and is more of a list serve/chat forum, sharing platform.

CHECC (Christian Home Educators of Central Carolina)

CHES exists to provide support and enrichment for the North Carolina Sandhills’ Christian homeschool community.

FAITH (Families Advancing in Teaching Homes)
Serves students from preschool to highschool. At Faith, our goal is to provide a loving environment where families can be encouraged both spiritually and educationally. Homeschoolers are provided opportunities to enrich their educational experience with classes, field trips, community service projects, and a competitive sports program.

This is a support group for people who use the Five in a Row curriculum and live in the Triangle area of North Carolina.

This group is based out of Grace Church in Southern Pines. Although we are church-based, we accept anyone who would like to join us.

This group is for homeschoolers in, or around, Harnett County in North Carolina … to share resources, plan get-togethers and field trips, maybe even classes.

Homeschoolers of Color is a group based in the piedmont of NC, dedicated to supporting homeschoolers of color and their families!

Hope in the Sandhills
HOPE in the Sandhills is for homeschooling parents and their children who want to Help Others Prioritize Education (HOPE) in their homes. We are a secular home school support group for families who are ***currently home schooling at least one child in elementary school level or above***. The purpose of our group is to exchange relevant information, answer questions, support one another, take field trips, enjoy fun events together, meet for activities, and make lasting friendships. We also have a Cooperative that meets weekly during the school year, a High School group, Student Council, and a Pre-School Group.

Our group is the LIFE homeschool support group out of Dunn. We meet Tuesdays.
LIFT TEAM Coop
A Christian based environment where our main goal is to support and encourage one another in the homeschool community in our efforts to educate children at home.
Linden Oaks Homeschoolers
This group is for the homeschooling residents of Linden Oaks (Ft. Bragg military housing) and other military families in our area. The purpose of his group is to connect with each other for park days, bike rides, and other fun stuff and to encourage one another with advice, resources tips, and fellowship.

Moore Christian Homeschoolers
Moore Christian Homeschoolers is a free faith-based homeschool group for homeschooling families, and those planning to homeschool, in Moore County and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide support, fellowship, advice, and gain encouragement for homeschooling. We offer events, field trips, holiday parties, and enrichment activities for our children to grow in and make long-lasting friendships.

Jonathan and Joy Shockey
Lt Col (retired) Jonathan and Joy Shockey are the homeschooling parents of Savannah and Landen. When Savannah, now a student at Liberty University, was two years old, Jonathan and Joy accepted an invitation from Joy's sister to attend the 2001 NCHE Conference. By the end of the conference they knew that homeschooling was part of God's plan for their family. Jonathan is currently employed at Pope Army Airfield and serves as Region 6 Liaison.
