“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Last week, something stuck out that I have never noticed: the “theys” in this verse might not be the same person. It is possible that while we are all collectively waiting on the Lord, some of us will mount up with wings like eagles and experience great triumphs. Some [others] will be able to run and not grow weary, and some will only be able to walk—but they won’t faint. This brought me tremendous joy as my lot in life (and maybe yours) is to be the steady walker who is cheering on her friends as they are keeping company with eagles. I know some amazing people! I am so thankful that we have access to strength from the same Sustainer. I can trust that the speed He sets for my life is the perfect pace!
