NCHE is thrilled to work with the North Carolina Family Policy Council to offer civics education for 9th-12th grade homeschool students.  Each seminar is one day (choose either Tuesday or Wednesday).  Registration is limited to 25 students per day.  Each  program will begin at 9:30 and last until about 3:30 and include:

o  Discussion with the NC Family Policy Staff on the importance of Christian engagement in public policy
o  Instruction on how the NC General Assembly works

o  Experiencing a real-life committee debate on a bill of interest
o  A tour of the NC General Assembly and the possibility of meeting with your state legislators

Parents will need to provide transportation between the NC Family Policy Council office (343 East Six Forks Rd, Raleigh) where the students will meet through lunchtime and the Legislative building (300 N. Classes are limited to 25 9th-12th graders per day. Participation for registered students is free but registration is required (see form below).

Parents may drop-off or may request to stay in the seminar room, sitting around the edge, as space allows.  Attentive thirteen and fourteen year olds may also stay with a parent in attendance.  Younger children are not permitted.
