2022 Fall Fun and Fellowship for Moms

At this point, we are full for overnight guests (commuters can still register). If you are interested in getting on a waiting list for if rooms become available, email debbie.mason@nche.com.

Mark your calendars, call your friends and sign up now to join NCHE for a weekend full of fun and fellowship. This year’s moms retreat will take place November 4-5 at Caraway Conference Center near Asheboro, NC. Find out more about our location at www.carawayconferencecenter.com

We will gather on Friday afternoon and enjoy dinner together. After dinner, we will have an encouraging talk. To wind up the evening, we have reserved the fire pit area for s’mores and conversation. Saturday will include more encouragement from our speakers, a spa craft “make and take,” and after lunch a time of just fun relaxing activities from a group hike to board games and hobby time.  Be sure and bring along your crochet, scrapbook, or favorite board game. You’ll have a chance to make new friends and maybe learn about a new pastime. Of course there will be giveaways too (who doesn’t love a prize). Nursing babies are welcome.

Moms Retreat Schedule

4:30 Retreat check-in
5:30-6:30 Supper
7:00 Large group gathering and encouraging talk by Ronda Marshall, “Mary Homeschooling in a Martha World”—Balance, that’s what it is all about. Yet we live in a culture with the daily demands of a busy world, trying to do everything. Like Martha, we love Jesus and really want to serve Him through homeschooling our children, but we sometimes struggle with weariness, feelings of inadequacy and are overwhelmed by our responsibilities. The Lord will calm our anxious hearts and give us His extravagant love right in the midst of our circumstances, so that like Mary, we can keep first things first and choose God’s best for our families.
8:30-until Gather around the fire pit for s’mores and conversation

7:30-8:30 Breakfast
9:00-9:30 Devotional & worship time – led by Amanda Wares
9:45 Home “spa” make & take – We want your retreat to continue when you return home. Materials and instruction for a fun pampering product will be provided while we fellowship together.
10:45 Encouraging talk by Dana McDill, “Victory in the Battle”—We are all in a battle, a spiritual battle. As homeschooling mothers, we are doing one of the most important jobs on earth, and the enemy doesn’t like it! He uses lies, discouragement, guilt, regret, feelings of failure, doubts, feelings of inadequacy, worry, anxiety, and depression to attack us. He wants to keep us from all that God has called us to do, especially homeschooling our children. As a wife/mother, I believe one of the hardest things about my homeschooling journey has been the battle in my mind. For years, it robbed me of energy, time, my health, and the joys of mothering. It made me lose focus on what was true and important. Let’s talk about how we can be aware of this battle, engage in it, and be victorious so that we flourish as wives and homeschooling mothers! You are not a failure, and God will use your faithfulness and obedience to do great things!
