"It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth." (Lam. 3:27) There was a time when older children and younger teens could find work. Child labor laws and other cultural conditions have made that more difficult—or have they? Technology has opened up the world to the budding entrepreneur. Many young people have learned how to build apps that sell in Apple's App Store, have built and run popular web sites and sell Software as a Service. This successful software craftsman will provide pointers to help budding technologists learn what they need to know to take time to learn to write software and maybe even start a business from the safety of home.
