Charles Nettles

Charles Nettles and his wife, Sarah, who have eight children, are in their twenty-ninth year of homeschooling and have always homeschooled. Their children range in age from thirty-five to twelve. Their four oldest have completed college with a master’s degree. Their fifth is a college junior, and the sixth is a college freshman. As a family they take extended field trips across the country visiting national parks and monuments—one year going all the way to Alaska. Charles is active in their church where he is a deacon and teaches Sunday school. He is involved in 4-H on the local, district and state levels. He and his wife, Sarah, are on the board of their local homeschool support group (which they co-founded over twenty-five years ago). In his spare time he works for Duke Energy at the McGuire Nuclear Station.
