Caryn Hommel

Caryn Hommel graduated from North Carolina State University with a BA degree in Spanish language and literature in 1989. Mrs. Hommel taught in public and private schools for ten years, during which time she designed and implemented an ESL summer school curriculum, presented and presided at the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina, served as co-president of the Johnston County Second Language Network and led educational tours of Spain and Mexico. In 2003, Mrs. Hommel began homeschooling, continuing to teach Spanish to individuals, groups, classes and/or co-ops. But, as a homeschool mom, she researched intensively to uncover foreign language teaching solutions to better meet students’ needs. In 2011, she published a Spanish curriculum (Excelerate Spanish) which allows homeschooling families anywhere to provide Spanish instruction for their students. Additional languages to be made available soon.
