Founded in 1984, North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE) is a private, volunteer organization active at the state level, serving homeschoolers in North Carolina and beyond.
In order to better serve, NCHE divides the state into nine regions. Each region has an assigned number and Regional Director.
Homeschooling is the view that education is best when teaching and learning are integrated into the relationships and activities of the family.
The oldest form of education, homeschooling was legally recognized in NC in 1988.
Article 39 of chapter 115C of the General Statutes defines a Homeschool in NC. The Division of Non-Public Instruction (DNPE) administers the NC law governing homeschooling practice.

The NCHE Showcase of Talent will be held Friday, May 23, 2014, at 7:45 PM, at the NCHE Annual Conference and Book Fair in the main auditorium (Room A).
The deadline to submit an audition is April 7, 2014.
Selections will be made by audition. The auditions are judged by a committee of those who are knowledgeable in the various performing arts. Ensembles as well as individuals are encouraged to audition.
The following are the requirements for participation:
To audition, submit the 2014 NCHE Homeschool Talent Showcase Entry Form (PDF) with a DVD of the audition to the Showcase Coordinator, Mereda Hart Farynyk ( firstname.lastname@example.org ).
Entries must be no more than 4 minutes long.
Please submit a DVD of the presentation to be performed while wearing the actual clothing that will be worn at the performance (must be in DVD format and able to be played in any DVD player). The submitted DVDs are for audition purposes only, and applicants will be notified as to whether or not they are selected. Audition DVDs cannot be returned.
Clearly label DVD with student's name. All entries must be accompanied by the registration form, postmarked by April 7, 2014

If a selected performer is unable to participate in the Showcase, they must notify Mrs. Farynyk immediately. No substitutions allowed.
